A Brief review while I await the Draft
Early in my month-long meme for July, I asked readers for some questions about boardgames that I didn’t consider. “What game was the flavor of the week this time last year?” This is going to have to be a shorter one. I have a smoker full of pig and a bunch of folks coming over to consume said pig in about four hours. So I have to get to cleaning.

“What game do you keep around just for the benefit of a friend or two?” This could get dicey. I mean, my friends read this blog, and I don’t want them to get the wrong idea. . . HA! Like I have been hiding my feelings about games. So if I’m keeping the games around just for you, it’s because I like having you around more than I care about the games I play. Wow. That just sounds so wrong. . . hehe.

“What game reminds you of a specific person?” I’m going to change the tone a bit here. Six years ago, my best friend Brett tragically took his own life. He had a huge impact on my adult self, helping to form my world view in many ways. Since the event, I have consciously chosen to ignore the skeletons in his closet – he was not a perfect man – and instead I focus on the positive things that he brought to me and my family. One thing he brought to me was my love of gaming.
