My wife has a more robust social life than I do, it seems. For the second time in as many weeks, she’s out with friends at the movies. This time it’s Contagion, which had many scenes filmed in the building where her company has lab and office space. Happy Labor Day weekend, everyone. Here is episode three, getting us 75% of the way through our segments on NPR’s “Top 100 Science-Fiction and Fantasy Books,” as well as 75% of the way through our rapid-fire episodes. Segment one is an introduction to an excellent web series, Mr. Deity (For some reason, the site is behind on episodes. Once you’ve seen Seasons 1-3, move over to youtube). Segment two is a rant about vaccinations and HPV. (That story really blew my mind.) Spoiler alert – this is my favorite third episode of all time. Seriously, folks, we are freakin’ brilliant here.

So about now, the 11 of you (as of this writing) who have downloaded episode 1 are probably champing at the bit for more, right? I’m assuming that the 4.5 million of you that streamed it directly from the website are in the same boat. (I can’t track the streaming numbers, so I’m just guesstimating on the actual number.) So we have had an overwhelming response to our first podcast ever. Someone is Wrong on the Internet. episode 1 has reached 1′s of people so far. Seriously, thanks to our friends who have taken the risk of us boring them to tears for 50 minutes or so. I have even found a cool way to promote the new ‘cast. We also discuss the bizarre goings-on with the nascent Republican Presidential campaign. But our big topic of the episode is the first in a four-part discussion about NPR’s “100 Top Sci-Fi and Fantasy Books.”
